How places get listed

Listings are chosen by hand. Businesses can claim a free listing, pay for a richer one, or invite a visit. A paid listing never buys a review or changes one.

Disclosures

Upper Midwesterner is published by the owner of Raider Digital, a web studio. Some listed businesses are Raider Digital clients, and their listings and reviews say so. When a visit is hosted or provided free, the review says so plainly. Links from paid listings are marked as sponsored for search engines.
